It’s nice to change the image from time to time, right? But for North Koreans, this is an unaffordable luxury. They have exactly 28 haircuts to choose from. Hair coloring is prohibited. Women have 14 hairstyle options and most of them are short. Men should cut their hair short every 15 days, as long hair allegedly negatively affects a person’s intelligence, “because they consume a lot of nutrients and can deprive the brain of the necessary energy.”
